Helsinki Roostersin naisten joukkue on solminut farmisopimuksen kaudelle 2025 Vaahteraliigassa pelaavan Helsinki Wolverinesin kanssa. Joukkueet ovat aiemmin kohdanneet toisensa 1 divisioonassa, mutta nyt joukkueilla on mahdollisuus yhteistyöhön, kun Wolverines keskittyy Vaahteraliigaan ja Roosters jatkaa pelejään ykkösdivarissa. Wolverines sijoittui viime kaudella Vaahteraliigassa hopealle, joten farmisopimus tarjoaa Roostersin pelaajille ainutlaatuisen mahdollisuuden kehittyä huipputason joukkueen rinnalla.

Farmisopimus mahdollistaa pelaajille entistä paremmat kehittymismahdollisuudet, sillä molemmissa joukkueissa on mahdollista saada peliaikaa omalle tasolleen sopivassa ympäristössä. Samalla yhteistyö vahvistaa Helsingin jenkkifutisyhteisöä entisestään.

Roostersin päävalmentaja Janne Laukka näkee yhteistyön tärkeänä askeleena molemmille joukkueille: 

"Farmisopimus Wolverinesin kanssa on meille todella tärkeä asia ja sen toteutuminen palvelee myös molempien joukkueiden tavoitteita. On hienoa nähdä kahden helsinkiläisen seuran tukevan toisiaan ja samalla edistävän naisten amerikkalaista jalkapalloa pääkaupunkiseudulla."

Erityisesti joukkueiden läheinen sijainti tuo farmisopimukseen uusia etuja, sillä yhdessä harjoittelu on vaivatonta toteuttaa. Roosters ja Wolverines harjoittelevat samoissa paikoissa, mikä tekee yhteistyöstä sujuvaa ja tarjoaa pelaajille laadukkaita treenimahdollisuuksia.

Wolverinesin päävalmentaja Josh Claassen näkee farmisopimuksen erinomaisena mahdollisuutena tarjota pelaajille lisää arvokasta pelikokemusta ja kehitysmahdollisuuksia ilman ylimääräistä matkustamista:

“I know how hard our players train so they can play in the summer, and how important game experience is for development. I’m very pleased that we found a way to provide extra playing opportunities, but being able to do so without extra travel to home games or joint practices is the next best option to a second team, and probably the best situation for a farm partnership."

Myös pelaajat odottavat innolla yhteistyötä ja mahdollisuutta pelata molemmissa joukkueissa. Roostersin hyökkäyksen linjassa pelaava Mari Romoi pitää farmisopimusta loistavana mahdollisuutena kehittää peliä ja rakentaa yhteistyötä joukkueiden välillä:

"Odotan innolla yhteistyötä, sillä farmisopimus tarjoaa lisää mahdollisuuksia treenata ja kehittyä, sekä kesällä on mahdollista saada enemmän pelejä ja pelikokemusta kaikille. Nyt kun ei tarvitse miettiä fyysistä välimatkaa farmijoukkueiden välillä, niin uskon että saadaan yhteisöllisyyttä rakennettua, ja kova jefukesä molemmille joukkueille!"

Kauden alku lähestyy kovaa vauhtia ja pian nähdään miten farmisopimus alkaa kantaa hedelmää kentällä. Joukkueet jatkavat valmistautumistaan tulevaan kauteen yhdessä – pysy kuulolla kauden aikataulusta!

ROOSTERS WOMEN SIGN FARM CONTRACT WITH HELSINKI WOLVERINES

The Helsinki Roosters women's team has signed a farm contract for the 2025 season with the Helsinki Wolverines, who compete in the Maple League. The two teams have previously faced each other in Division 1, but this year, the Wolverines are focusing on the Maple League while the Roosters continue their journey in Division 1. The Wolverines secured the silver medal last year’s Maple League season, making this farm team agreement an exciting opportunity for Roosters players to develop alongside a top-tier team.

The agreement allows players to gain valuable experience at different levels of competition, ensuring more playing opportunities and individual growth. Additionally, it strengthens the women’s football community in Helsinki.

Helsinki Roosters head coach Janne Laukka sees the partnership as an essential step for both teams: "The farm team agreement with Wolverines is incredibly valuable for us, and its execution serves the goals of both teams. It’s great to see two Helsinki-based teams supporting each other while promoting women's American football in the capital region."

One key advantage of this agreement is the teams' proximity, as they train at the exact locations. This makes joint training sessions easy to organize and ensures high-quality practice opportunities for all players.

Wolverines head coach Josh Claassen sees the farm deal as an excellent opportunity to provide players with more valuable playing experience and development opportunities without the extra travel:

Now that there is no physical distance between the farm teams, we can build a stronger sense of community and have an amazing football summer for both teams!"
