The game against the Crusaders was a solid team win, and as a coaching staff, we were able to evaluate some of the players who may not have had as many opportunities in the past. Offensively, we didn’t miss a beat with our four young guys on the offensive line (Metsäniemi, Tervanen, Tohmo, and Saarinen), who took over after halftime. Quarterback Jerry Silomaa once again orchestrated every move with precision after stepping in for Urjansson. Silomaa now has four touchdowns on the season with a completion percentage of 73%.
This upcoming Thursday, we will face the Butchers in Porvoo, who just secured an important win over the Royals. A victory would clinch the number one seed for us. We are well aware that we will be facing one of the strongest defenses in the league. Defensive lineman Vuoksenturja is the anchor of that front, and they have added a few players since we last saw them.
We are very confident in our team. Our players have worked hard and improved all season. Let us remember that many of our guys work or go to school on the side, and instead of going to festivals, they choose to spend their Sundays on the practice field at Ulkovelodromi. Should be an exciting game.
