Roosters sign linebacker Mathew Barrett for the remainder of 2024 season.

Barrett is a standout linebacker who previously played for St. Norbert College. He has been recognized for his exceptional defensive skills, being one of the leading tacklers in the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA) this spring for Gallos Negros and also the leading tackler in the German Football League with the Allgäu Comets during 2023 season.

Barrett is known for his quick play recognition and exceptional motor, enabling him to effectively chase down plays from sideline to sideline each play and making him a valuable asset for any defense. Matt will join the Helsinki Roosters roster during their midsummer break. He is set to make his debut in the away game against the Kuopio Steelers after the break.
